Besides the advantages of DSLR cameras, it is worth remembering that they have also some drawbacks:
A. Dimensions and greater weight. Cameras DSLR + lens weighing nearly a pound. Considering an average compact camera between Fifth Third that weight, so if you intend to take you to the camera all the time, DSLR is not a practical option.
Two. Noise comes from the mirror mechanism. Who’s shooting in places like the theater can appreciate the absolute silence of compact cameras.
Three. You can not take pictures and video. Most of the new compact cameras to film clips allow reasonable quality and up. DSLR in this option does not exist.
Four. You can not use the LCD screen photography (except Olympus E330) and consequently no rotating LCD screens. It’s a very significant disadvantage to me.Very convenient to connect a compact camera and take a table to carve the floor height, while the screen is facing up. In DSLR you’ll have to lie on the floor.
Five. There is no live histogram, but only after shooting. Those who do not know, the histogram is a great tool for ideal exposures.
6. Moving mechanical parts exist that may stagnate / fall apart over time. It does not happen often, but there are precedents.
Seven. Mirror movement causes vibrations that might affect the contrast medium shutter speeds. Some cameras have a lock option that solves the problem shows this.
Eight. Eyepiece blocked light (blackout) during shooting. It bothers some long exposures, but not a significant problem beautifully.
Nine. High price. Most amateurs do not find justification to pay 4000 shekels (and north) for DSLR.?
10th. The problem of accumulation of dust on the sensor. All the DSLR cameras except those of Olympus, there is a dust problem. Replacement lenses is a critical moment when the dust has a chance to enter the camera and sensor. The DSLR cameras of Olympus (such as the E1 and-E300), ultrasonic shaking mechanism has the sensor and knock the dust off the tape underneath.
11th. Flash synchronization speed is limited. Non-DSLR camera’s flash sync speed possible to the highest without reducing its range. In contrast, in the maximum synchronization DSLR, known as “X”, stands at a low enough speed (about -1 / 125 to 1/250 in most cases). This limits the possibility to perform the widest aperture fill flash, so flash is required to act more strongly. Disadvantages are reflected in the short invaded, invaded a smaller amount for each set of batteries and charging time is longer. DSLR cameras have a special synchronization mode include faster X sync speed, but at the cost of a significant shortening of the range as the speed is faster.
12th. Problems of lack of precision in focus as a result of not enough good calibration of the AF system. Non-DSLR camera sensor itself is in focus photography and used a technique called contrast detection. This prevents errors that characterize DSLR Focus that use phase detection method. Although the last method in most cases faster, but is more problematic and cause side of the back-focus and front-focus.?
13th. Lack of precision viewfinder. Most DSLR cameras show the 95% viewfinder picture (except the most professional models). Non-DSLR cameras almost always show 100% from the picture on the LCD and EVF-
14th. Can not a vivid display of black – white.
15th. You can not freely choose the focus point for the image width and length, but only at points where the sensors are the focus.
16th. Look daunting. DSLR cameras have the appearance of professional cameras (especially if they have components Grip). Pocket cameras much less daunting, in an advantageous photographers.
About their benefits:
A. Higher photo quality. Not significant for anyone who uses modern compact camera and prints up to A4 size – that is, 95% of non-professional photographers.Beyond that, there are non-DSLR cameras and giving image quality in low ISO that exceeds that of several DSLR cameras.? In high ISO DSLR to have a significant advantage in most cases, as mentioned in section 5 below.
Two. Faster response. Not a problem for those who buy Rico’s cameras (they have a quick response as a DSLR), and a rather marginal one who buys the new models from Sony or Casio. However, for those who want to photograph birds in flight, a fast DSLR camera with a long lens is almost the only option.
Three. A detailed optical viewfinder, no Faralks. This is perhaps the most significant, but still a significant lack of LCD screen than the eyes, especially in a rotating LCD screen. I have a number of SLR cameras, and I still think the LCD screen’s swivel my Olympus often more useful.
Four. Style. Bad reason to choose a camera. On,
Five. You can shoot high sensor sensitivity without the grainy results as with compact cameras. Useful for many of us (especially those who take advantage of it), but not something most fans would agree to pay for it.
6. Large selection of lenses and flashes. Nice advantage, but the price and weight accordingly. Moreover, replacement lenses and flash train time may require a critical moment of the screw-up photography.
Seven. You can easily get a limited depth of field. It’s a fairly significant advantage portrait photography.
In short, DSLR cameras have many benefits, but do not have to exaggerated – most amateur photographers are choosing less compact cameras correctly, even if you ignore an interesting price.
